LGBT+ ACTIVIST: Pageantry expert Clive Jacobs
LGBT+ activist Clive Jacobs has reached out and offered his services to a primary school to put on a showcase and help raise money for a science laboratory.
Jacobs, who has years of experience in pageantry and competitions, told the Daily Voice that he immediately put on his hakkies to help equip the learners at Delta Primary in Steenberg with the necessary skills for the modelling showcase.
“Delta Primary School is the oldest in the area. So when I heard that they turned 60 years old, I knew something needed to be done to invest back into the school.”
Jacobs said the palie of his alma mater met with him and a few teachers, and together they decided to put on a one-of-a-kind show.
“I attended primary school at Delta and we lost out on a lot and up until today our kids are still losing out because of not having all the subjects other schools have.
“Our kids are just as talented and possess the skills to become great scientists. That is why we decided it’s a great idea to get the ball on the roll for a lab.”
Jacobs said the event, which is set to take place on June 29 at the school hall, will showcase 100 learners participating in four categories of modelling.
“As a pageant diva, I’m really looking forward to teaching the kids. We are showing the people that we are serious about that lab, so we are taking the event very seriously too.”
Jacobs said while teacher Tercia Koenze is busy prepping, many LGBT members have also reached out and offered their help.
