A GROUP of Hard Livings gang members have been charged with murder as Manenberg cops have cracked the case of a woman who was strangled and dumped in a wheelie bin.

Shocking details of what led up to the woman’s death have come to light as it was revealed that the gang accused her of being a spy and plotted her murder.

The woman from Gugulethu was found face down in a wheelie bin with strangulation marks around her neck on Thursday morning.

Commuters walking along Duinefontein Road got a moerse skrik when they saw legs sticking out of a wheelie bin the canal as the rubbish was removed.

As police photographers arrived on the scene, the body was removed and this is when cops discovered it was a woman.

Later that day, cops clamped down on a pella pos in Hurricane Street run by the Hard Livings gang as they combed the house for clues amid reports that the woman was last seen alive.

According to a Daily Voice source, the gang has suspected her of spying on them for the Fancy Boys gang and murdered her inside the house and later dumped her body as they cleaned the crime scene.

The insider says: "They suspected she was spying on them but that is not true, she was just a drug addict that went around from one pos to another.

"On the day the body was found, her family went to the police station and told officers that she had been away from home for two years due to drug abuse.

"Apparently she went to the house in Hurricane Street on Monday where she was using drugs. They thought she was a spy and planned to murder her. They strangled her and beat her up."

The source says the skollies stole a wheelie bin and placed her body inside and initially set the bin alight, adding: "They are so dom they set the bin on fire and pushed it into a water canal which extinguished the flames.

"The rope they discarded of was also recovered and handed in as evidence and the officers worked right into the next day to get all the skollies."

Police spokesperson Captain FC van wyk confirmed the arrests were made.

He says: "Be advised that the unidentified woman was identified as a 29-year-old from Gugulethu. Manenberg Detectives worked around the clock in solving the wheelie bin murder of the female."

"A 57-year-old male and two females aged 25 and 26 were arrested for a charge of murder. Investigations continues and the possibility of more arrest cannot be excluded."
