COPS have busted a man and two women for possession of presumed stolen property, drugs and a firearm and ammunition.
The trio were, a 44-year-old man and two vrouens aged 31 and 42, were vasgevat by the Maitland flying squad in Kenilworth after they drew the cops’ attention for suspicious behaviour, according to Police spokesman Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi.
Of Sunday’s incident, he reported yesterday: “When the patrol vehicle entered Rosmead Avenue they noticed the driver of a suspicious Red VW Polo, seemingly in a heated discussion on his mobile device.
“The members followed the vehicle and ordered the driver to stop near the corners of Imam Haron and Loch Roads where they searched the occupants and the vehicle which resulted in the confiscation of a pistol with ammunition, drugs and valuables for which no one could account.
“They detained the 44-year-old man and two females aged 31 and 42 for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, the possession of drugs and the possession of presumed stolen property.”
The trio are expected to make a court appearance in the Wynberg Magistrates Court on the mentioned charges.
Meanwhile, Manenberg SAPS found a male suspect found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in Jenny Schreiner Street.
Members were deployed to investigate suspicious activities at a house and they recovered a pistol with ammunition and in the process arrested a 26-year-old man for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The suspect was due in Athlone Magistrates court on the mentioned charges yesterday.
