JOHN Cena has opened up about how he gave skin cancer the "FU".

The WWE superstar and Hollywood actor was diagnosed with melanoma twice - first with a spot on his left pectoral muscle and again a year later when another spot on his upper back was also cancerous.

After revealing these diagnoses at the end of last month, he shared that he is cancer-free now.

But he admits that the news was more shocking than getting a Tombstone from fellow wrestling legend The Undertaker.

He recalled a routine visit to the dermatologist, telling USA Today: “I received the phone call twice, ‘Hey, you've got to come back, because the biopsy came back cancerous.”

“That information is sobering, and it right there prompted me to change my life.”

After his skin cancer scare, the record 17-time WWE Champion immediately started to add an SPF 70 sunscreen to his daily routine.

And now he is on a mission to tell ouens not to neglect their skin care.

The 48-year-old adds: “SPF is more common in the vernacular of women, and that’s because it is directly correlated with beauty.

"If someone uses SPF, because they don't want to get wrinkles, it’s like someone going to the gym saying, 'I want to be ripped'. But being ‘ripped’ is essentially making healthier choices

“Skincare is a more palatable and accepted term and subject matter amongst women.

“Discussions between men can be more difficult to initiate. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

“Men especially, are becoming more conscious of self-care… I just think we need to make it more commonplace.”

According to research, women are almost twice as likely to wear sunblock than men and are at greater risk of developing skin cancer.

But men are still more likely to die from melonoma, says the American Academy of Dermotology.

He says while going to the gym is considered a healthy lifestyle and macho, he says wearing sunscreen to beat cancer is much easier.

The Barbie star saks af: “I’ve done some pretty aspirational things in the strength and health department, as far as nutritional choices and training regimens, and that’s really complicated, difficult stuff. But wearing SPF is just like brushing your teeth.”
