ANDRE Naude, an alleged key figure in Cape Town’s underworld, was gunned down on Thursday afternoon in Parow.

Naude was shot along Voortrekker Road shortly before 3pm. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police shut down the crime scene where Naude’s gun-metal Toyota Hi-Lux bakkie came under attack.

The word on the street is that Naude was shot in the back as he got into his bakkie by assailants who drove past him in a car.

Known as a close associate of Mark Lifman, his brutal murder comes seven months after the alleged kingpin died in a hail of bullets in the parking lot of the Garden Route Mall in George in November.

At the time of his death, Naude was out on bail.

As mense stood around the crime scene yesterday, alleged Sexy Boys gang leader Jerome ‘Donkie’ Booysen was also in the crowd.

Donkie, along with Lifman and Naude, are the accused in the Western Cape High Court trial for the 2017 murder of Brian Wainstein.

The murder trial remains ongoing.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that the Western Cape Anti-Gang Unit are investigating the incident.

He reports: “At approximately 2.40pm on Voortrekker Road a vehicle pulled up next to the deceased who was in the company of three men and the occupants of the vehicle fired several shots.

“A 55-year-old man was killed and another aged 61 was wounded. Two other males aged 45 and 54 escaped injury.

“A case of murder and attempted murders were opened for investigation. No arrests have been effected yet.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Karl Jooste on 071 300 5029 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
