ANTI-GANG Unit cops busted six mense in Hout Bay Heights for illegal firearms and ammunition.
Police raided addresses in Salamander Road and Rhode Vos Street, where they found vuurwapens and skietgoed.
Police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana reports: “Members of the Anti-Gang Unit deployed in Hout Bay policing precinct to curb gang violence in the area, seized firearms and ammunition during crime prevention operations on Monday, 16 June 2025.
“The members conducted an intelligence driven operation in Salamander Road, Hout Bay during which they arrested an 18-year-old male who was found in possession of a .38 Special revolver without a serial number and a 9mm pistol with 55 rounds of ammunition.
“He faces charges for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
She adds: The members proceeded and searched a premises in Rhode Vos Street where they confiscated 63 rounds of ammunition and three magazines.
“They arrested a 23-year-old female for the illegal possession of ammunition.”
During the tracing operation by Anti-Gang Unit detectives, they arrested four adult males who were wanted in connection with charges of murder which occurred in Hout Bay recently.
Once charged the suspects will appear in the Simon’s Town Magistrates Court.
