COPS are appealing to the public for assistance in tracing the 23-year-old Fatima Simons, who was last seen at her residence in Gouritz Street, Manenberg on Saturday 9 August 2025.
At the time of her disappearance Fatima was wearing a teddy bear pyjama set and black high-top Soviet sneakers.
Manenberg SAPS reported that Fatima is mentally challenged and is known to be very friendly.

Cases of abduction of mentally-challenged women have hit the headlines on two occasions in the Daily Voice this year.
In March, gatvol Langa residents marched following the rape of a 15-year-old girl by a man who lived in the same block of flats.
According to the distraught grandmother of the victim, it was the second time the meisie was raped by a man in the community, following an assault on the girl in August last year.
The grandmother explained of the March incident: “He called her and told her to buy a cold drink, then when she came back, he took her, closed the door and raped her.”
Just last month, a man was arrested after abducting and raping a vrou with Down Syndrome in Goodwood on Thursday.
The 22-year-old victim was reported missing and according to the missing person’s post, she was last seen in a nearby park with friends before being lured to a nearby bed and breakfast.
