COPS busted a drug mert on Monday night after a high-speed chase in Delft.
Anti-Gang Unit officers were on patrol in the Roosendal neighbourhood, when a white BMW came speeding past them and they gave chase through the narrow streets.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg, officers chased down the skelm and arrested him.
Twigg reported: The members were busy with crime prevention duties to curb gang violence and to stabilize the area.
“While on patrols the members noticed a white BMW speeding past them. A high speed chase ensued and the vehicle was brought to a standstill in Justifina Close where they searched the vehicle and the driver.”
He added that cops found a vrag dwelms, including mandrax and tik, as well as cash, presumably made from illicit sales.
Twigg said: “The members found 924 mandrax tablets, a large amount of crystal meth and an undisclosed amount of cash in the vehicle. They arrested an adult male for dealing in drugs.”
The suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s court once charged.
In an unrelated matter, members of the Malmesbury Crime Prevention Unit and Law Enforcement searched a vehicle in Malmesbury and found 222 parcels of dagga.
They arrested an adult male for the possession of dagga and will appear in the Malmesbury Magistrate's Court once charged.
