Influencer and the former girlfriend of TV presenter, Katlego Maboe, Monique Muller has been arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm, apparently linked to gang activity.
Muller together with a group of co-accused made an appearance at the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on 21 October after being vasgevat in Ravensmead last Sunday.
It's alleged she was arrested alongside other suspects linked to apparent gang activity.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed Muller’s arrest.
He said: “In response to your media enquiry, kindly be advised that the person mentioned in your enquiry faces a charge for the illegal possession of a firearm together with other suspects and appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on 21 October, where the case was remanded until 30 October. "
Sources revealed that the home which cops searched allegedly belongs to a gang hitman.
Maboe, who is now estranged and no longer dating Muller, made headlines in October 202 when a video of him confessing to infidelity went viral, leading to allegations of cheating and domestic violence.
He denied abuse claims and was suspended from the Expresso Show and Safta, and OUTsurance removed his advertisements.
Maboe's attorney, Andre Johnston, at the time confirmed that letters of demand were sent.
The letters allege that a relative of Muller's maliciously posted false Instagram stories in October 2020, accusing Maboe of domestic violence, damaging his reputation and income.
Muller was accused of publishing a video alleging Maboe had extramarital affairs, gave her an STD, and made other defamatory statements, including claims of sexual assault charges and public drinking.
The legal team then stated these allegations were untrue and had severely harmed Maboe's reputation and earning capacity.

Both Muller and her relative were instructed to issue an apology, a retraction, and pay R1 million each in compensation, plus legal costs.
Muller responded, calling it a media stunt and denying prior knowledge of the letter, despite the legal team confirming it was sent to her email.
Women for Change received a letter alleging they sent an email to Maboe's employers on 7 May 2021.
