Man "driven in half"

A HORROR motor vehicle accident rocked Mitchells Plain on Wednesday afternoon, when a pedestrian was ripped in two.

At around 4pm, residents were alarmed again as sirens blared along Eisleben Road after a BMW driver allegedly struck a pedestrian, creating a horrific scene that also triggered a pile-up involving four other vehicles.

Witness accounts and graphic videos posted on social media captured the ensuing chaos. One video showed a man inside the BMW, where deflated, bloody airbags were visible, as an onlooker commented that the driver had "driven someone in half." 

Another recording showed the BMW being driven erratically towards oncoming traffic just before the major collision. The bottom half of a human body could be seen lying in the middle of the road.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg reported: “Lentegeur police registered culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving cases for investigation following an accident in Eisleben Road, Lentegeur, on Wednesday afternoon, 19 November 2025, which claimed the life of an adult male. “According to reports the driver of a BMW drove on the wrong side of the road and collided with the pedestrian. 

“The pedestrian was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The driver of the BMW crashed into four other vehicles injuring the drivers and their passengers which include children.

“The injured victims including the driver of the BMW were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and an arrest is yet to be made.”
