Popular SA radio and TV presenter DJ Warras, also known as Warrick Stock, a former 5FM and CliffCentral producer, was shot and killed in Johannesburg Central on Tuesday.
After parking his vehicle, popular SA radio and TV presenter DJ Warras was approached by three unknown suspects and shot dead in Johannesburg Central on Tuesday.
The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
Police spokesperson, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, confirmed DJ Warras' death.
"It is alleged that the victim was approached by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, before opening fire at him and fleeing the scene on foot," said Sibeko.
"The motive for the shooting is currently unknown; no arrest has been made yet, and the investigation is underway," he added.
Superintendent of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), Xolani Fihla, reiterated what Sibeko said about DJ Warras' shooting. "We can confirm the shooting," Fihla told IOL.
"JMPD officers were the first responders to the incident. They were alerted by members of the public who witnessed the shooting." "Any further details will be released by the police, including the identity of the victim."
