A DOM Wesbank skollie is expected in court on Monday after he pulled a fake gun on the cops and was busted.

Police officers linked to the Mfuleni Crime Prevention Unit took down the suspected gang member during late-night patrols on Friday.

In an incident on Misty Road, officers encountered a suspect, who drew his gun, but he was only packing blanks.

Police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala reported: “As the officers approached, the suspect drew a black firearm and aimed it towards them.

“With remarkable composure, the members tactically disarmed the individual, seizing the firearm, which was later revealed to be an imitation weapon.

“He was arrested, this time for possession of an imitation firearm.

In an earlier incident, officers spotted a male, believed to be affiliated with a gang, strolling suspiciously on Galvandale Street.

Constable Gwala continued: “Upon noticing the police, the man attempted to flee.

“However, quick-thinking officers pursued him and conducted a thorough search, uncovering a firearm without a serial number concealed in the seam of his pants.

“The suspect was promptly arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm, underlining the unit's commitment to removing dangerous weapons from the streets.”

Both suspects will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 12 January 2026.
