South African global music star Tyla made waves in Los Angeles as she joined international superstar Cardi B during a Little Miss Drama World Tour stop, a major milestone in her rapidly ascending global career.

The surprise appearance thrilled fans and came on the back of a series of stunning achievements for the Johannesburg‑born singer.

The young artist won her second Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance with her hit single Push 2 Start, making her the first artist to win in this category twice since its introduction. This accomplishment solidifies her status as a key figure in contemporary music, with her diverse sound blending pop, amapiano, R&B and global rhythms resonating across continents.

Just days before her Grammy triumph, Tyla celebrated her 24th birthday, marking a dual personal and professional milestone in what is proving to be a transformative year for the artist. Her earlier Grammy win in 2024 for the chart-topping track Water had already solidified her as the youngest South African solo artist in decades to break into the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Fans will also remember her standout track Chanel, which achieved the distinction of debuting at number one on both the US and UK Official Afrobeats Charts.

From local stages to international tours, Tyla's journey is a testament to hard work and dedication in the music industry.
