The alleged leader of the Bad Boys gang in Heideveld has been busted on a spate of murder as cops embark on gang clampdown operations.
The 27-year-old man was arrested by Manenberg police as they launched a series of raids and interventions aimed at crippling the gang drug trade across the precinct.
Acting station commander Colonel Harry Brickles said the integrated deployment of officers is aimed at tackling gang violence.
He reports: "On Wednesday the integrated deployment was focused on combating gang violence and officers arrested a 27-year-old male who is the leader of a local gang. He is among the most wanted feared gang member for the first part of 2025.
"He was arrested and brought in on several charges of murder and attempted murder within Heideveld. The feared suspect has orchestrated and and is responsible for murders and attempted murders within recent times, in the Heideveld area.
"He was instrumental in giving instructions to murder young people from opposing gangs to gain territory and become prominent in the gang underworld."
In a separate incident, Brickles said after the arrest of the gang boss, cops busted an alleged drug mert for the Fancy Boys gang who was caught in possession of 1 000 Mandrax pille valued at R100 000
He adds: ‘The 26-year-old male was arrested in Tambo Village for the possession of 1 000 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R100 000.
"He tried evading arrest by throwing the bag down but the officers cornered him and on searching the bag found 1000 mandrax tablets packed in smaller plastic bags containing 100 tablets each."
