The lifeless body of the police officer, who has only been identified as Captain Abrahams, was discovered on Wednesday morning by his colleagues at Goodwood Police Station.
Cops suspect the senior cop passed away at his desk due to a heart attack and said no foul play is suspected.
It is believed Captain Abrahams had been on duty and was busy with paperwork at the time of his death.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Andrè Traut confirms his colleague’s death: “This office can confirm that Captain Abrahams from the Goodwood Detective Services passed away yesterday [Wednesday] in his office due to a possible heart attack.”
A police source says when his colleagues opened the office door they found the officer dead in his chair: “When his colleagues opened the door at the police station, they saw that he was dead. They say it’s stress or a heart attack.”
It is not clear on which cases Captain Abrahams had been working.
