Children from three schools in Delft were treated to stationery packs, food and face masks to help them when they return to the classroom.
On Tuesday, Youth Day was celebrated at Delft Technical High, Kairos Primary and The Hague Primary schools.
Grade 7 pupils at Kairos and The Hague were each given stationery packs and a hot meal.
Matric pupils at Delft Technical High School received hotdogs and masks.
Wilhemina Heynes, 60, of Masithembele, an organisation which works with the Department of Social Services and who has been feeding 200 children daily in Delft, made it all possible.

Wilhelmina featured in the Daily Voice before when she opened up her home to matriculants during their final examinations and made them breakfast.
“The stationery was donated to Grade 7s and it was a donation by Councillor Michelle Adonis,” she says.
“The Grade 12s also received hotdogs and masks and a gift pack.
“We did this because our children are affected by Covid-19, they are also living in fear and we wanted to lift their spirits.
“We want to say they must not be fearful.
“Education is power. If our children do not go to school now or after Covid-19, then we won’t have a future generation.
“The teaching staff appreciated our presence.
“We at Masithembele, we care about our community and our kids.”
