A popular radio and club DJ, along with a woman believed to be his wife, have been arrested after R4 million worth of drugs and an undisclosed amount of money were allegedly found at their home in the Cape Town City Bowl.
The couple were taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon after the Hawks swooped on their home in Tamboerskloof.
The two are being detained at Cape Town Central Police Station.
The larney property is surrounded by an electric fence and has three CCTV cameras.
A Mercedes Benz M1500 parked in the garage was removed and officers searched the premises.
The DJ, who has featured at top local nightclubs and is a well-known name on local radio, cannot be identified until he makes his first appearance at the Cape Town Magistrate's Court this week.
It is unclear what type of drugs was confiscated, but according to a police source, it’s of a “high quality”.
Management of one of Cape Town’s stations on Tuesday said the man’s contract expired recently and had not been renewed.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, confirms that two people were nabbed following a search of the house.
He declined to comment further, saying the case is being handled by the Hawks.
The Hawks did not respond to queries.
