A drive-by shooting in Valhalla Park on Sunday resulted in four people being wounded in one street.
Just after 4pm, the victims, including a female, were shot at from a Mercedes-Benz in Agnes Street.
The area has been volatile for a few weeks with reports of a spate of shootings which are believed to be gang-related.
Residents in the area are too afraid to be outside and have refrained from speaking to the media for fear of retaliation.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, confirmed the incident but says the motive for the shooting is still unknown.
“This office confirms a shooting incident on Sunday at about 4pm in Agnes Street in Valhalla Park where four victims were wounded,” he says.
“A 49-year-old male was shot twice in the right leg.
“A 15-year-old male was shot once in the right leg and once in the right hand [ring finger].”
“A 22-year-old female was shot once in the lower lip and once on the right foot and a 37-year-old male was also shot.”
Van Wyk added the registration of the vehicle used in the driver-by is still unknown.
“It is alleged that a Mercedes-Benz drove by and started shooting at the victims. The registration is unknown. The reason for shooting is unknown at this stage and four cases of attempted murder were opened for investigation,” he added.
