BISHOP Lavis crime fighters are no closer to getting to the bottom of the shooting of three mense on Tuesday night, as the community is gripped by gang violence.

Two meisies and an ou were hospitalised after unknown gunmen rocked up with a white VW Polo, went into a Valhalla Park house where two girls and a man were and shot them.

According to a Daily Voice source, one of the girls were shot in the stomach and one in the eye. However, it has been reported by a friend of the female victims that one is out of critical status.

Bishop Lavis Crime Prevention Forum (BLCPF) chairperson Graham Lindhorst told the Daily Voice that even if there are reports that the incident is believed to be drug-related, it’s definitely gang- related as well, as the two go hand-in-hand.

Lindhorst explains: “We cannot pinpoint as yet as to where the genesis of all of this is because there is quite a lot of conflict within the Bishop Lavis area at the moment.

“You have one guy that was killed on Sunday morning who is an alleged drug lord in the area, so you do not know whether it is a retaliation from that side on what is happening.”

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk reports: “Bishop Lavis police registered three counts of attempted murder following a shooting incident on Tuesday, 27 May 2025 at about 7pm in Matthew Street, Valhalla Park, where three victims including two females aged 15 and 17 and a 34-year-old male were shot and injured.

“The three victims were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

“Circumstances surrounding this shooting incident are under investigation. The motive is believed to be gang-related.”
