MANENBERG residents say they are bearing the brunt of a bloody gang war flare-up.
The neighbourhood has been gripped in a turf war between the Hard Livings and Fancy Boys gangs.
On Sunday, two shootings were reported, with two men killed in one incident which left another injured on Letaba Street, while one man was gunned down in Irvine Road in a separate incident ommie draai on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that Manenberg cops had opened three counts of murder and one counts of attempted murder. No arrests have been made yet.
Residents say that their area of Manenberg is quiet compared to the blokke and ‘upper’ Manenberg, but dinge have gotten worse.
They point to the murder of Levern Davids at a Surrey Estate garage station on 25 October after a brazen attack on her and her alleged Hard Livings gangster husband, known as “Corky” or “Mr Davids”, as the reason for the surge in violence.

One resident, who asked not be named for safety reasons, said: “Ever since that incident happened of that lady and guy that was shot at the Engen garage this rivalry between the gangs has increased and they are just shooting.
“I just hope things are going to calm down, because it's not just this side, it’s in upper Manenberg and all over the Cape Flats.
“This area was quiet and it’s seldom that things like this happen here by us, it’s more by upper Manenberg there by the courts, its gang fights, gang wars en almal daai dingetjies.”
According to Daily Voice sources, the three manne known as Edmund, “Charra” and “Bubba” were shot when a white motor vehicle drove down Letaba Road. It is alleged that the trio sold drugs in the area.
Another resident added: “Those guys that were shot are Fancy Boys and it’s probably the Hard Livings that shot at them, because that lady Levern was shot at the garage and that’s why those guys came back for them.
“Her funeral was on Saturday and the guys came back for them.
“These guys didn’t kill her but they are their people. Mr Davids is kind of known to be one of the big guys, but they had a junk style to shoot her.”
