A Bo-Kaap family is worried about the well-being of their father who went missing two weeks ago near the V&A Waterfront.
Yunis Moos, 62, was last seen leaving his Freedom Court home on Wednesday, 22 September, at 6.50am when he went to query his family’s high water bill by the council.
His daughter, Faseegah, says: “My niece dropped my father at the fountain near the Waterfront and nobody has seen him since.
“The day before he was listening to the radio about a story where people questioned their high water bills, so he went there to query the bill at home.”
Faseegah said her father had just completed a two-week quarantine after coming home from hospital for Covid-19.
“He spent three days at Somerset Hospital and another eight at Bracken Gate and for two weeks afterwards he stayed at home.
“He still was not breathing properly so we are very worried about his condition.
“There were rumours that my niece dropped him with clothes but all of his stuff is still at home and that day he did not even take a jacket with him.
“There are surveillance cameras in that area and the police checked the footage but they found nothing.
“Although they told me that they only looked from 8am and he would have been in the area from after 7am already so they must look further back.”
The pensioner was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeved grey striped sweater, a black cap and brown boots.
“He will turn 63 later this month and we really hope that he can celebrate his birthday here at home with his family,” adds Faseegah.
