A driver for a gang hit has opened a new can of worms for the Terrible Josters amid claims they were behind the murder of alleged 28s boss Victor “Fox” Browers.
The 37-year-old man, who cannot be named, is the State’s second 204 witness to piemp on the notorious gang in the ongoing trial of Horatio “Voudie” Solomons and 11 other men.
In his testimony, the self-confessed drug mert told the court he merted for Duane Arries of the Josters and said they would go to Voudie’s home in Delft where they once collected 500 mandrax tablets.
The man, who took the stand for the first time on Monday, boldly told Judge Owen Rogers that he received a “TJ” tjappie on his right arm shortly after Fox was murdered.
Fox, an alleged 28s gang boss, was shot seven times while sitting with a woman in his silver Jaguar outside a scrapyard in Halt Road, Elsies River, on 13 December 2016.
The owner of the Reo Hotel tried to escape the gunmen and drove off in the direction of Viking Way, but his car came to a standstill in front of his hotel, where he died.
According to the indictment, Fox was killed by Keenan Kruger, Lucian Consul, Zachary Wasserfall and Arries, who is now dead.

The State witness told the court on Monday that after being remanded in custody at Goodwood Court on a theft case, a
drug runner known as Kanebo, who worked for Arries, saved him from coming under attack by a 28s gang member known as “Jon Piet”.
He testified: “Jon Piet wanted to cut me. He was in custody because they thought that he drove the bakkie at the Fox incident, but Kanebo told him I drove the bakkie and that he [Kanebo] shot Fox, but he didn’t.”
The witness further told the court that later that day, he agreed to get a TJ tjappie while being surrounded by members of the Terrible Josters gang so he could “ kap safe innie tronk”.
HOF: Horatio ‘Voudie’ Solomons.
After being released on parole, he says he was approached by two detectives from Elsies River SAPS who showed him video footage of himself stealing the bakkie used in the murder of Fox and he ran out of the cop shop, but was caught.
The detectives went to his mother’s home in Clarke’s Estate and brought back his Nike takkies and blue sweater he wore on the day of the murder and it was then that the former mert decided to piemp the Josters. The trial continues.
