A 15-year-old boy from Heideveld who allegedly hid guns for gangsters was arrested over the weekend after he was caught by Law Enforcement officers on Sunday.
According to a source, the teen and his 24-year-old friend were caught as they were on their way to stash the guns at a hiding place for the West Siders gang.
Law Enforcement spokesperson, Wayne Dyason, says at 6am the City’s Rail Enforcement Unit was conducting patrols near the railway line in Heideveld when they spotted the duo.
“They observed two males and as the officers approached them, they tried to hide behind a small truck,” he explains.
“One of them threw something over a wall.
“The officers approached the two
suspects and after checking them to ensure they were not carrying any dangerous weapons, requested they remain where they are while the officers checked the yard where they discarded the objects. The officers found two firearms in the yard.
