Robbers have hit the third MTN store in less than three weeks on the Cape Flats.
Police were called to the MTN store at the Ottery Mall on Friday where three gunmen in a grey Toyota Avanza fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cellphones and cash.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police spokesperson,
Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut, says they have yet to make an arrest.
“This office can confirm that the circumstances surrounding a robbery at a cellular store in Ottery (on Friday) are being investigated. Three armed suspects held the staff at gunpoint and fled the scene with cellular telephones and cash. They are yet to be arrested.”
On 26 March, police were also called to the MTN store at N1 City Mall.
The seven armed robbers fled with four laptops and a cellphone.
On 14 March, robbers hit the MTN store at the Liberty Promenade Mall, in Mitchells Plain.
They were caught on CCTV footage carrying bags filled with cellphones out of the mall.
In February, the MTN store at Westgate Mall was robbed for the fifth time in less than a year.
MTN’s spokesman, Mthokozisi Ndlovu, did not reply to queries.
