PAIN FOR LUWAYNE
CAPE Town DJ and Heart FM radio host Luwayne Wonder is back in the spotlight, this time for being smacked around on a video by an alleged “loan shark”.
Luwayne Bouwers started trending on social media over the weekend after a video of him surfaced where he is being confronted by a guy demanding back some money he took “on the bookie”.
The 39-second video clip which is taken by the person wanting his money back shows Luwayne wearing a Heart FM 16 Days for Youth sweater, blue shorts and slippers while backed up against a wall.
The video starts with the person saying: “Kyk'ie ouens this is how a p**s look. So I am going to make the n**i famous on social media Luwayne Wonder,” while hitting Luwayne, who covers his face but does not attempt to fight back.
The person continues to swear at Luwayne and points at him while saying: “Who do you owe money to? How much money do you owe me. You mos famous on radio now I’m gonna show you I’m gonna make you famous for coke [cocaine] money mos neh.”
He continues to rough Luwayne up asking: “Is it for coke money? “Now you don’t want to answer because you vark on video. I got all your vark messages on my phone. I’m gonna make you famous, you n**i.”
Daily Voice reached out to Luwayne but did not get a response. He later addressed the viral video on his social media with a statement saying that it was a financial loan and not cocaine with the comments turned off. The statement reads: “He came to my residence asking and needing the money I owed. I couldn’t settle it at the time he was there.
“The money was a loan which I had taken out from him and he got word that I had allegedly used the money for substance. It was a financial loan and nothing else I’m being accused of. The loan has been settled by me and the other party.”
At the same time, Heart 104.9 also released a statement on their social media saying that they are aware of the video.
The radio station said: “This is a personal matter and unrelated to the station. While we respect the person’s privacy during this
difficult time, we remain committed to providing the high-quality broadcasts our listeners expect.
We trust this radio host will make the best choices for their personal journey with the various platforms available to them should they choose to use them.”
This is not the first time Luwayne has been in the spotlight.
In 2022, he was accused of having an affair after dumping his sick wife after giving birth to their third daughter.
In 2020, Luwayne asked his friends and followers to help him raise R500 000 to bring his wife back from Dubai.
However, she claimed that he used the funds to buy a larney car.
