The family of a man whose body was found on Sunday morning says he went missing the night before.
Ivano “Wano” Soggab, 28, was shot and killed and his body was found near the Eikendal Primary School in Kraaifontein.
According to a family member at the scene, he was shot in the head.
The 30-year-old woman, who declined to be named, told the Daily Voice: “Ivano stayed in Petunia Street in Scottsville.
“The last time we saw him alive was on Saturday night at 10pm when he walked to a garage in Scottsville.
“We started looking for him after we heard many gunshots being fired in the area but we couldn’t find him.
“This morning (Sunday) when the mist lifted, people found him lying in the street.
“We looked everywhere and someone who recognised his clothes came to tell us.
“The blood was flowing from his head.
“Before he left for the garage, he still washed his feet because his takkies got wet in the rain and he was wearing his girlfriend’s slippers.
“The slippers and inner soles were pushed down the back of his pants when we found him.”
She says they don’t know what he was doing in Eikendal.
“We believe someone lured him to his death because we all know there are certain areas where you just don’t go in Kraaifontein.”
SAPS’ FC van Wyk says: “Police are investigating a murder case after the body of an unknown man was found in Sander Street, Eikendal, with a gunshot wound to his head, shot by unknown suspect/s who is yet to be arrested.”
