Six people have been murdered and 13 wounded - even a dog was also shot and killed - in just three weeks.
The youngest victim is an eight-year-old girl who was shot in both her legs in Joyce Court.
Cops were called to Pecos Walk on Friday at 11pm where a 37-year-old man was shot in the bum.
A 22-year-old man, who was identified as the gunman, was arrested soon after.
On Saturday at 4.30am, cops visited Ruimte Road where rival gangs shot at one another, wounding a 53-year-old man in the leg.
The man was rushed to Heideveld Emergency Centre for treatment.
A few hours later, at 11.20am, a 28-year-old man had been walking with his girlfriend when he was shot in the stomach in Pam Court by gangsters.
The woman was not harmed.
On Sunday, three men between the ages of 28 and 29 were wounded when gunmen opened fire in Elbe Road.
Station commander, Brigadier Enolium Joseph, says police managed to arrest two persons, but with community assistance, more arrests could be made.
“Sporadic shots continue to be fired within the Manenberg area even in the presence of a high deployment of police members,” he says.
“Community members fail to report criminal activities within gangs.
“The community need to realise that they must play a more active role in crime prevention.
“It is impossible to address gangs and gang activity without the positive support of community.
“Members deployed in the residential area to do high-density patrols arrested a 25-year-old male for the possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
“Members patrolling Rio Grande [cornered] a male person standing in the road.
“He was arrested with a .38 revolver with five live rounds of ammunition.
“The serial number had been filed off, an additional charge of prohibited firearm will also be added and this is a more serious offence with a harsher penalty.”
