Cops busted six suspects in a stolen vehicle with a vrag dwelms following a high-speed chase.
The police members were conducting visible patrols in the City of Cape Town District on Sunday when their attention was drawn to the driver of a black Hyundai SUV driving at a high speed in Hercules Street in Woodstock.
The members took action which resulted in a high speed chase with police members in pursuit, forcing the driver to stop in Albert Road.
Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi reports: “They searched the vehicle and the occupants, and in the process confiscated 29 sachets filled with methamphetamine and fourMandrax tablets.
“Further investigation confirmed that the motor vehicle used to commit the crime was previously reported stolen which led to the detention of six suspects on charges of the possession of a stolen motor vehicle and the possession of drugs.”
Once charged, the suspects are expected to make their court appearance in the Cape Town Magistrates court on the mentioned charges.
In an unrelated incident, police members entered a premises in Irvine Street in Manenberg and searched the occupants.
Their patience paid off when they recovered a .38 Special revolver with ammunition and arrested a 35-year-old female for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Athlone Magistrates court on the mentioned charges.
