ARRESTED: Suspects, 34 & 30
Two dom skollies from Parkwood are behind bars after they were busted during a high-speed chase with cops as they allegedly tried to carry out a hit.
Grassy Park station commander, Colonel Dawood Laing, says the men, who are members of the Six Bobs gang, tried to ram cops with their motorbike but ended up flying through the air.
“Officers on patrol spotted the two men on one of these Vuka scooters shortly before midnight on Sunday on Klip Road.
“They were riding with no lights on and cops became suspicious and tried to pull them over.
“But when they saw the blue lights they sped off.”
Laing says as cops gave chase the two skollies started to drive recklessly, jumping robots and nearly causing accidents.
“In the chase, officers saw the driver hand over the firearm to the other suspect and cops cornered them in Parkwood.
“They then rammed the police vehicle and went flying.
“One of the suspects was arrested immediately while the other ran onto a dark veldjie.
“One of the officers ran after him and when cornered, he gunpointed the officer.”
Laing says the brave cop tackled the skollie to the ground and recovered a revolver with five rounds of ammunition.
“It is suspected that they were on their way to go and shoot somewhere.
“The suspects, aged 34 and 30, will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of a prohibited firearm, pointing a firearm, reckless and negligent driving, resisting arrest and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.”
