Emotions ran high at the Wynberg Magistrate's Court where the man accused of kidnapping and murdering 12-year-old Michaela Williams made his first appearance today.
The courtroom benches were filled to capacity and moments before facing her child's alleged killer, Beatrice Adams, 40, burst into tears and became hysterical and had to be consoled by family.
The emotional mother nearly collapsed and was assisted outside of the courtroom.
When the 48-year-old suspect emerged, he informed the court that he would not be applying for bail and now faces two charges which is of kidnapping and murder.
Patricia Japhta, who's daughter was raped and stabbed by the same suspect in 2005 when she was just eight-years-old, was also n court.
In February 2005, the 48-year-old man had lured the eight-year-old from her home in Hyde Park informal settlement in Tafelsig to Khayelitsha Cemetery, where he raped her, strangled her and stabbed her in the heart with scissors.
But the brave child survived by pretending to be dead and managed to crawl out of the bush and get help.
The girl's testimony saw the suspect sentenced to 20 years behind bars, however, he was granted parole a year ago.

The court has ordered that no photographs or the suspect's name be published in the media or on social media until the investigation is complete.
The State also indicated that the suspect was out on parole after being convicted and sentenced to 20 years behind bars for rape in 2005 when the victim was eight-years-old.
The matter was postponed to April 14 for further investigation.
As he was led out of the courtroom, the public gallery bayed for his blood saying he must "vrek" inside prison.
Dressed in a yellow t-shirt and wearing spectacles, the suspect did not dare to make eye contact with anyone.
Meanwhile outside court, angry mense said they want a female magistrate "who knows what it is like to be a mother" and who can understand their pain.

He was arrested on January 9 after leading cops to 9th Avenue in Schaapkraal where he had left the body of Michaela.
Michaela disappeared on the evening of January 7 in front of her home in New Horizon, Pelican Park and was reported missing the next day.
