According to a police source, the community was rocked by shootings and revenge shootings as rival gangs opened fire on each other.
The gunfire started on Thursday night when a 24-year-old man was hit in the chest in 14th Avenue.
Police say the man, who is allegedly a member of the 28s gang, was tight-lipped about what led to the shooting and refused to give a statement.
An attempted murder case was opened.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, shots rang out in 9th Avenue as gunmen kicked open the door and opened fire on three people inside a Wendy house.
Theodore van Rooyen, 41, was shot several times and died on the scene while his friend John Oppel, 31, who sustained several gunshot wounds, was taken to Tygerberg Hospital, along with a 55-year-old man who was shot in the stomach.

“Oppel died in hospital and the other man survived,” the source says.
Shortly before 7pm on Sunday, shots were again heard in 9th Avenue where 15-year-old Thurston Hoffman was shot by an unidentified man.
“Just like the other shooting, they just went in the Wendy house where he was and opened fire on Thurston and another 22-year-old man. Thurston was shot in the head, neck, jaw and eye and died on the scene. The other man was shot in both legs and survived, but also refused to give a statement,” says the source.
Police spokesperson, Sinathi Joni, confirms the shootings and says no arrests have been made.
