Police are investigating a mysterious murder case after a man was found dead on a resident's front door in Delft.
Residents in Leiden, Delft claim they heard multiple gunshots go off during the early hours of Monday morning when an unidentified man with multiple gunshot wounds to his body was found in Marangula Street.
The shooting took place at around 3am and after the gunshots went off, residents claim they heard a car speed off. The huismense living on the premises got a moerse skrik when they found the body of a dead man on their front stoep.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed the incident and said that police are investigating a murder case.
Twigg reports: “Delft police registered a murder case for investigation after the body of an unknown male was found inside the front yard of a premises in Marangula Street, Delft, on Monday morning, 19 May 2025 at about 3.15am.
"Police members were called to the crime scene where they found the victim with gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. According to reports, community members heard gunshots going off and a vehicle speeding away.
"The motive for the attack is yet to be determined and the suspect/s are yet to be arrested.”
