The father of the minor told the Daily Voice that his son and other learners were bunking class and were spotted by one of the teachers.
The pa explains: “The teacher picked up a brick and wanted to throw my son on the head so he ran and other learners threw bricks back at the teacher.
“Apparently one of the bricks hit the teacher and the teacher told some learners who were outside of the school to catch my son and then the teacher assaulted him. He kicked him in his face and beat him with his fists and then apparently he hit him with a gun against his head but the magazine of the gun fell out.”
The family of the skool brood went to the school after the incident where they spoke to the teacher and were told by him that they can open a case. During a discussion with the teacher the principal was present, however the teacher allegedly swore at the minor.

According to police, both the learner's family and the teacher have registered cases of common assault against mekaar.

"The parents have now opened a criminal case against the educator and will be investigated."
Western Cape Education Department (WCED) spokesperson Bronagh Hammond confirmed that the incident occurred after break time.
Hammond explains: “On Friday afternoon, after school break, some learners jumped over the school fence. A brick was then thrown by one of the learners into the school property, hitting a teacher. They also shouted abuse at the teacher. The learners then ran away.
“The teacher attempted to catch up with the learners in order to identify them to lay a charge. It is unclear what transpired but we have not yet received any reports of an assault or the use of a gun.
“While the actions of the teacher is yet to be determined, and will be dealt with accordingly, the actions of the learners cannot be tolerated.
