DELFT VROU GUNNED DOWN

DELFT cops are investigating a case of murder where a 30-year-old woman was shot and fatally wounded in the head during the early hours of Monday morning.

The incident took place on the corner of Mozart and Paganini Street in Delft South and information is unclear whether the vrou was on her way to work or not.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the woman was approached by an unidentified man who shot her in the head and fled the scene.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed the shooting and said that the matter is under investigation.

Van Wyk reports: “Delft police registered a murder case following a shooting incident on 3 June at about 6.15am at the corner of Mozart and Paganini Street, Delft South, Delft, where a 30-year-old woman was shot and fatally injured.

“According to reports, the victim was walking in Mozart Street when an unidentified male approached her and shot her in the head and ran away.

“The suspect is yet to be arrested. The motive for this incident forms part of the police investigation.”

Police are appealing to anyone with any information about this incident to please call Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or alternatively use the mobile application MySAPS anonymously.

When Daily Voice asked ward councillor, Phumla Tause, for comment, she said that she wasn’t informed of the shooting by neighbourhood committees.
