Triple murder in Mfuleni

Another triple murder in Mfuleni is under investigation, after the bodies of three men riddled with gunshot wounds were found inside a shack in the Covid informal settlement at the weekend.

The suspects remain at large but police say that the victims aged 21, 31 and 40 on Saturday morning as witnesses reported gunshots. But due to the woeste weer on Friday night, no immediate action was taken.

Police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut said that the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are in pursuit of leads relating to the triple murder in Mfuleni.

Traut reported: “Detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are following up on leads related to a triple murder in Mfuleni. The victims, three men aged 21, 31, and 40, were found with gunshot wounds inside a shack in the Covid informal settlement.

"Police were alerted to the scene at around 10:00 (Saturday) morning. Preliminary investigations suggest the victims were shot the previous night.

"Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, but due to adverse weather conditions, no immediate action was taken at the time.

"The motive for the killings is yet to be determined, and the suspects remain unknown. Police are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that may assist the investigation.”
