A HEIDEVELD MAN was gunned down in a hail of bullets and allegedly hit 21 times as he sat in his car in Surrey Estate late Tuesday night.

The brutal shooting happened just before midnight on 9 July leaving the 32-year-old man slumped in the driver’s seat with multiple wounds to his upper body.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Jayce Naidoo confirmed the murder, saying officers responded to the scene in Sirius Street, Surrey Estate, at around 11.40pm.

Manenberg SAPS station commander Naidoo says: “The body of a 32-year-old male was found with multiple gunshot wounds slumped in the driver seat of his car.

“It is alleged that the 32-year-old male victim was sitting in his car when he came under attack, in Sirius Street, Surrey Estate.

“His assailants fired several fatal gunshots at him, hitting him multiple times in his upper body. A case of murder has been opened for investigation. No arrest has been made.”

Heideveld Community Policing Forum (CPF) Chairperson Vanessa Adrianse confirmed the murder, however said the motive around the shooting incident cannot be confirmed.

Adrianse says: “We cannot say whether it is gang affiliated as the matter is under investigation.”
