TWO Belhar vroue say they are being tormented by unruly neighbours, who petrol-bombed their home on Sunday after years of complaining.
Priscilla Eagles and her sick elderly mother, who is paralysed, live in Extension 16 and say they’ve been having endless issues with a specific neighbour.
Apparently this neighbour and his mense play loud music and parties until the wee hours of the morning.
However, despite calling the authorities to intervene nothing has been done.
Eagles now revealed that the matter escalated on Sunday around 5am when the neighbours allegedly retaliated and stoned their home, threw beer bottles and apparently also two petrol bombs at their home.
“The first petrol bomb was thrown at 7am and our DStv and wires burned and then the second petrol bomb was thrown around 8am,” she explained.
“Around 11am a bakkie pulled up and started throwing stones again at our house. We had a net in front of the gate and they cut our net off the gate. “We have been phoning the police and they only came in the afternoon. I feel like the police failed us. After the police left, it continued again. It felt like we were in a war.”
In the past, Eagles also took to TikTok to complain about the loud music and ‘disrespect’ coming from her neighbours in an attempt to seek help.
She adds that they live in fear because of the unruly neighbours, saying: “Because I got no help from the authorities I started making TikTok videos. We even had a petition but nothing came from it. I was also threatened and said they will keep us hostage in our own home.
“It is like a syndicate of people who stood up against me because I am always complaining. One woman came up to me and said ‘yah jou n**i make more TikTok videos then this will happen’.”
Police spokesperson Captain F.C Van Wyk confirmed that a police case has been opened, saying: “Be advised that the mentioned case number is an attempted arson case registered at Belhar SAPS for investigation. According to reports the incident happened between 5am and 7.17pm on 2025-07-27 at a premises in Bloemendal Avenue, Belhar. Investigations continues.”
