TWO chartered accountants are on a mission to empower girls and young women through career guidance, feminine wellness and self empowerment and confidence building and have sold out on their launching event.

She CAn founder and managing director Razaan Bester told the Daily Voice that the non-profit company (NPC) is hosting a high tea fundraiser on 16 August to mark its launch.

Bester says: “This has been a passion project of mine that I decided to register officially this year, as a NPC so that there is more credibility for us to appeal to people for assistance.

“She CAn is focused on young girls from the Cape Flats and townships to connect high-performing girls with professionals who are out there.

"It stems from when I was younger when someone gave me an opportunity to have a working experience.”

The organisation also aims to promote feminine wellness and dignity by educating young girls on menstrual health, hygiene practices, mental wellness and personal care.

Bester added that self-empowerment and confidence building allows older girls to become aware of what tools are available for them to build a brand for themselves in working environments.

The event at Cafe51 in Woodstock will also include live entertainment, mindfulness gardening activities and spot prizes.
