Pageants SA host Miss and Mr Pageants Western Cape

Pageants South Africa is bringing the glitz and the glam this weekend and crowning a new King and Queen to represent the Western Cape.

This Saturday is about to be jam-packed programmer as various age groups from four to 65 years will be competing to take home the crown.

This is the first regional finals for the Western Cape, so be prepared to see who will be crowned Miss and Mr Junior South Africa, Miss, Mrs and Mr Universal South Africa and Sir South Africa 2026.

You do not want to miss out on this eventful day, with Pageants SA hosting the Miss and Mr Pageants South Africa Western Cape on the same day.

All roads lead to the Bellville-Vallei NG Kerk at 61 Postma Street in Oakdale. The event starts at 11.50am.

Immediately after the Western Cape Modelling Championship judging finishes, crowning will take place.

Pageants SA are committed to uplifting communities and welcome all to join.

If you want to be part of the runway and enter on the day, you will be placed in a category with available space should there not be a minimum of three people in the category already due to sashes only being made when entries have been paid.

But if you have what it takes - the smile, the walk, the confidence - then don't miss your chance at being a beauty queen or king.

The kykNET Silwerskermfees is in full swing this weekend and embraces, expands, and celebrates South African stories annually by hosting a content festival in Camps Bay this weekend.

As a prolific and seminal local industry event, the festival showcases South African stories in the Afrikaans language in film, TV and streamer content honouring local films and filmmakers since 2011.

The festival’s diverse program includes South African and world premieres of local feature films, a curated selection of fresh short films highlighting emerging story-tellers’ unique voices, screenings of recent acclaimed films and documentaries, and a series of valuable industry workshops, panel discussions and master classes.

The festival will run this Friday and Saturday at the The Bay Hotel and Theatre on The Bay, Camps Bay from 8am to 10pm and the cost involved is R75 per film.

The kykNet Silveerskerm Awards for Film and TV will take place on the evening of 23 August at the CTICC. Tickets are available at R150 on Quicket.

Catch Chelsea Sloan, Sir Bongz, Damage Kontrol and more this Friday at Destiny CPT for Family Ties. Expect a mixture of Hip, Hop, Amapiano, Afrotech and Trap. Tickets are 85 on Quicket.

The Kids Factory is hosting a Slide and Slime on Friday, 22 August with three afternoon slots available, choose between 4pm, 5pm and 7pm. Tickets are available at R150 on Howler and includes 90 minutes of playtime and a slime workshop. Food specials are available on the night.

Utopia Cafe and Lounge presents the Jazz Soul and Weekend Wind Down this Sunday featuring Carmen Xclusive alongside the Big Five Jazz Band. Entry is free.
