Triple murder probed in Kleinvlei and two killed in Hout Bay

The communities of Kleinvlei and Hout Bay were bleeding this weekend when ten men were shot in two separate shooting incidents.

A triple murder is under investigation in Kleinvlei, Eerste River after three men were gunned down during the early hours of Sunday morning in Daventry Street, Stratford Green.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Pojie said provincial detectives from the Serious and Violent Crimes unit are probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident which claimed the lives of three men between the ages 18 and 39.

Pojie reported: “Preliminary information reveals that three unknown armed men entered the premises where the three victims were sitting in the yard at about 00:40. They opened fire and fatally shot the three. 

"Kleinvlei SAPS subsequently registered three counts of murder. The suspects who fled the scene on foot are yet to be arrested.”

Meanwhile, Captain FC van Wyk said detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit and the Taxi Violence Team are investigating a shooting incident which took place around 8.15pm in OR Tambo Road, Imizamo Yethu which claimed the lives of two adult males and injuring five males aged between 22 and 43.

Van Wyk confirmed: “According to reports Hout Bay SAPS members received a complaint of persons at Hout Bay Fire Department who had been shot.

"The members went to the address and found two bodies with gunshot wounds lying on the ground. It was later found that a fifth victim who was also injured was transported to hospital for medical treatment before the members arrived on the scene.

Seven suspects aged between 19 and 31 were arrested and two firearms were recovered. The suspects are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates Court once charged."
