Body tied with a rope and dumped

EPPING Forest residents woke up to a shocking discovery of a man’s body that was tied with a rope and dumped on a veldjie early Monday morning.

The body of the adult male was found off Forest Drive behind the Old Apostolic Church and close to The Range Primary School around 6am.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that Elsies River police are investigating a case of murder and that the perpetrators are yet to be arrested.

Twigg reports: “Elsies River police registered a murder case for investigation after the body of an adult male was found in Epping Forest behind a church on Monday morning, 1 September 2025. 

According to reports the victim was found tied up with a rope. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and arrests are yet to be made.”

Public relations officer for the Elsies River Community Policing Forum Gerrit Rass said that they are aware of the incident, however he could not have provide much information as the matter is under investigation.

He added: "This is not a regular [occurrence] but we have had a few in the past where people were killed in other areas and dumped in our area."
