THE current girlfriend of a suspended law enforcement officer, who was accused of assault against his previous goose, has spoken out to give their side of the story.
The lady, who asked not to be named, told the Daily Voice that following an article published by our newspaper titled ‘Tables Turned’, she wanted to set the record straight.
This comes after the suspended law enforcement officer was accused of assaulting Shauna Rhoda, who took to social media in July to break her silence on the alleged assault by the hands of her ex-boyfriend.
The lady said Rhoda’s social media account of what happened when she fetched clothes for her children at her ex’s house is a liegstorie.
According to Rhoda, her ex told her to leave, hit her head and pulled her hair through the window.
That’s not the case, says the man’s new girl, who explained: “He ended the relationship with her after [Shauna] slept with his best friend.
“Myself and the officer were chilling watching a movie at 10pm on that Monday evening and that’s when he received a call from her.
“She said that she was outside in the cold with his children, saying she and the kids were stranded and that he should open. But they weren’t with her and he told her to go home.
“He said ‘no’, he wasn’t going to open and then she decided to jump over a two metre high wall, that is how her ankle broke and her foot was then placed in a cast.
“She then started banging against the front door and window several times, however he did not open. She then decided to open the side gate and enter the yard coming around towards his bedroom and started banging against the window several times.
“[The officer] then opened the window, asked her what she was doing, told her to leave and that he was calling the cops, but she refused to leave.
“At the same time Shauna opened the bottom window pushing the head board onto the bed and forced entry into the house and started attacking [me].
“I defended myself and that's when he came in trying to pull us apart and got her out the house.
"We eventually managed to get her out not knowing she would enter the house again through the sliding door.
“She then attacked me again, damaging the bathroom door and the officer had to get them apart and managed to remove her from the property. Two family friends then arrived and that's when she made up the story that she's here for clothes and the officer didn't want to open.”
Rhoda previously told the Daily Voice that her case against the ex was withdrawn due to insufficient evidence, however it was due to no prospect of a successful prosecution against him.
However, things took a twist when it came out that Rhoda was facing charges of assault common under the domestic violence act, malicious damage to property and housebreaking.
Rhoda’s case was postponed to 3 October for trial.
Bruises she sustained were allegedly due to her climbing over a wall.
