Hermanus Whale Festival to make biggest splash ever

THIS weekend offers a splash of nature, music, food, and family fun as The Hermanus Whale Festival is back and bigger than ever taking place this weekend from 3 to 5 October 2025.

The event is set against the jaw-dropping beauty of the Hermanus coastline as this iconic festival celebrates the annual return of the southern right whales in spectacular style.

Whether you're a marine enthusiast, a live music lover, or just in it for the street food and festive vibes, there’s something here for everyone.

Bring the whole family and enjoy whale watching galore, spot these gentle giants right from the shore and enjoy a three day live music marquee featuring the best in local entertainment.

Look forward to the street parade on Saturday morning at 11am including loads of fun for the little ones with kiddies entertainment zones, craft and food markets, and a food court.

And don’t miss the Boks vs Argentina this Saturday on the big screen at 3pm.

Discover eco-tourism from this tropical gem and meet passionate island partners working to protect whales, turtles, and the ocean all wrapped in Reunion Island’s music, culture, and sunny island energy.

Gig guides

The Address CT presents a Ziggy 4x live alongside Lenneth Bowers, Liam Cue, DJ Skara and Oxy Naran. The dress code is white and entry is R100 at the door. Doors open at 9pm.

DJ Rollstoel presents How We Roll Volume 2 this Saturday at Mia Casa Night Club and Bar in aid of breast cancer awareness. Catch Ricky Vani Frontline alongside DJ Ralton, Jermaine SA, Fiegaro and DJ Rollstoel supported by resident DJs. The theme is shades of pink and tickets are available on Quicket at R80 for phase 1,R100 for phase 2 and R120 at the door. Doors open at 8pm.

Utopia Cafe and Lounge presents the all white matinee this Saturday with music by Carmen Xclusive. Catch the Boks take on Los Pumas live. Entry is R40 and enjoy a free shooter on arrival before 4pm.
