R5OK reward for Anovuyo's return

Parents encouraged by offer for info from police

THE parents of missing Phulmani Village meisie Anovuyo Oncke are relieved that cops are moving along with the investigation after a R50 000 reward was offered for any possible leads.

According to community worker Beryl Williams, Anovyuo’s ouers Luvuyo Mantile and Samantha Oncke are enocouraged by the development - two months since their daughter went missing.

Williams, known to her mense as Aunty Girly, speaking on their behalf said: “They were quite shocked but also relieved that at least something is happening now with the R50 000 reward and hope and pray that something will come out of this.”

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said that the Wynberg Family Violence Child Protection Sexual Offences Unit is offering a cash reward to any who can assist with information that can lead to the safe return of the eight year old.

Twigg reported: “Oncke who went missing on 7 September 2025, after she went to play with friends in Riemvasmaak, Phumlani Village and never returned. 

“Police have exhausted all avenues in efforts to reunite the child with her family.”

Luvuyo and Samantha also have a younger child who was put into the care of social workers on 12 September to allow them to focus on the search.

Their klein babatjie celebrated his second birthday on 7 November, however a new social worker has been appointed and the family are trying to get in contact with them.

The family, community and Williams held a klopjag three weeks ago.

They have searched near an open field where someone saw Anovuyo and her friends playing, Pelican Park, Zeekoeivlei, Riemvasmaak, Jim se Bos, Egoli and the big dam on the farms.

The Grade 1 Perivale Primary School learner was last seen wearing black pants and a pink pajama top. 

The parents said hopefully something will come out of the investigation following the reward.
