MASS SHOOTING: Maitland community rocked

The community of Garden Village in Maitland was rocked by a deadly mass shooting on Sunday evening, when four people were shot resulting in the death of two victims.
The incident took place in Discovery Avenue around 7.55pm where a woman and three men came under attack.
Two men were fatally wounded and declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.
Meanwhile, the two other victims, a man and a woman were wounded and rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
The motive for the attack is yet to be determined and forms part of the police investigation.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder are under investigation and no arrests have been made as yet.
Twigg said: “Maitland police registered two counts of murder and two of attempted murder following a shooting incident on Sunday evening, 23 November 2025, at about 7.55pm, in Discovery Avenue, Garden Village, where two adult males were shot and fatally wounded and one adult female and male shot and wounded.
“Police members attended to the crime scene where they found the victims with gunshot wounds to the bodies.
“The two adult males were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other two victims were transported to a medical facility for treatment.
“The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation and no arrests have been made yet.”
