Marsha Dean|Published

CHRISTMAS is around the corner and if you are still in need of getting those last-minute gift shopping done, then Cape Town’s favourite multi-faceted market is the place for you.

All roads lead to the Castle of Good Hope in the heart of the city for Kuier@TheCastle this Saturday from 10.00am to 4pm.

Shop from a marketplace of local talent and meet the creative makers, offering a diverse range of lifestyle products from homeware, fashion, art, and accessories that are all handmade right here in South Africa.

Eat your way through mouthwatering local food and drinks. This is an experiential market with fashion shows, live music, singers, dancers, and drumming workshops.

Play with the whole family at The Creative Workshop Area, which will host a variety of interactive workshops throughout the day for all guests.

Kuier@TheCastle is proudly powered by the Craft & Design Institute (CDI), a non-profit that supports makers and entrepreneurs across South Africa.

CDI helps small businesses grow through mentoring, showcasing at major trade shows in America and Europe, and providing a permanent platform at the V&A Watershed.

Erica Elk, CEO of the Craft + Design Institute: “Kuier@TheCastle is about growing creative businesses by creating opportunities for local makers to reach new audiences while building a space that celebrates Cape Town’s heritage.

"By bringing business, culture, and community together, we support the growth of South African talent in a way that everyone can enjoy.

Safe and free parking is available within the Castle grounds via the Darling Street entrances, so you can relax and enjoy the day.
