THE V&A Waterfront is the place to be as they bring the Mother City a free News Year’s Eve jol on 31 December - with fireworks and alles.
Early evening harbour views, a cool summer breeze and the sound of joy and laughter across the waterfront as you say goodbye to 2025 is exactly the summer energy that invites you to linger longer and spend New Year’s Eve at Cape Town’s most iconic destination.
This year, the V&A Waterfront is once again hosting an electrifying New Year’s Eve musical celebration, headlined by multi-award-winning Zoë Modiga along with a line-up of artists and DJ’s including GoodLuck, Emo Adams and Loukmaan Adams, DJ Shezzy K and the Starlight Band. MC’d by KFM’s Carl Wastie.
The evening closes off with a spectacular fireworks display to see in the new year.
Donald Kau, Head of PR and Communications at the V&A Waterfront said: “We love hosting visitors at the V&A Waterfront throughout the year, but there’s something especially magical about this time of year, when families connect, visitors take in the vibe of Cape Town at its best to see out 2025 and welcome the new year.
“The energy of the evening is truly unmatched, and we love nothing more than being the place where families and friends can come together to welcome the start of a new year in a festive, safe and secure environment, sharing in the joy and celebration in community."
The festivities will begin at 6pm with the fireworks display starting at midnight.
If you are bringing the whole family along to enjoy the festivities, kiddies’ tags will be available from the information desks.
Parents are encouraged to tag their children as soon as they arrive. If a child gets separated, they will be escorted to one of the information desks, located on the ground level outside Nespresso and Tasha’s.
As this is the busiest night of the year, parents are encouraged to always keep a close eye on little ones.
Make sure to pre-book at the restaurants to secure your table and the best viewing spot for the midnight moment.
