JAZZ IT UP AT THE JAZZATHON

IF YOU are a jazz lover then get ready for a weekend of lekker live musical talent as the iconic Cape Town Jazzathon returns to Cape Town and it is all going down this weekend.

All roads lead to the V&A Waterfront for its 29th anniversary with a vibrant line up of established icons, rising stars and bold new voices from across the country.

It is all going down this weekend at the Amphitheatre from Friday to Sunday featuring a diverse range of genres such as Afro Jazz, Cape Jazz, Hip Hop and Neo Soul.

This is a show not be missed as you can look forward to performances by some notable mense, including Alistair Izobel, The Artscape Youth Jazz Band, Sade Von S, Chadleigh Gowar, Musical Hearts Academy, Julius May, Cindy Gibbons, Women Unite, Fancy Galada, Gospel According to Jazzathon, The Cape Horns, Camissa Knights, Babalwa Mentjies and many more.

The best part is that the show is free so you can bring the whole family and your friends and kap it uit under the summer skies this weekend to some of the best home grown talent.

The show kicks off from 12pm to 8pm daily

- Catch Groovers CPT, DJ Wakanda, DJ Skara, Oxy Naran and Zeiden Marshall this Friday at The Address for Groovers Fun House. Doors open at 9pm and R100 gets you inside.

- Groove Republic presents Strictly Free with Njelic live this Saturday at the Arcade. Tickets are free and available on Quicket. The party starts at 8pm and ends at 2am.

- Comedian Loyiso Gola is live at the Ground Culture Cafe this Saturday for one night only. Tickets are available on Quicket at R200.

- It’s After Nine this Saturday at The Address with music by Woza Taboo, Oxy Naran, Jason Dee and DJ Skara. Doors open at 9pm and entry is R100.

- Utopia Cafe and Lounge presents the Weekend Wind Down this Sunday featuring Craig Jordaan, Jody Daniels, John Williams, Conray Jacobs and Neugen Wentzel this Sunday at 7pm. Entry is free
