Cops probe triple Joe Slovo murder involving former taxi driver and girlfriend

COPS are investigating a triple murder incident after a former taxi driver, his girlfriend, and another woman were shot in Joe Slovo, Milnerton, on Saturday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 10.30pm in Freedom Way after the bodies of the two females were found in a vehicle, while the male was found metres away.

Police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut reported: “Upon arrival at the scene, members discovered a silver Toyota Avanza with multiple bullet holes. 

“Inside the vehicle were the bodies of two adult females who were declared deceased on the scene. A few metres away, the body of a 36-year-old male was also found.

“According to information provided by a family member, the deceased male was previously involved in the taxi industry, and one of the female victims was reportedly his girlfriend.”

He added that the motive for the attack is unknown at this stage, and the suspects are yet to be arrested.

The case had been assigned to the Provincial and Violent Crime Detectives for further investigation.

SAPS appeals to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information that could assist the investigation to please come forward.

Traut said: “All information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.”

The Daily Voice reached out to both major taxi associations in the Cape - Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association (Codeta), and Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (Cata). 

However, neither could shed light on the attack, saying they were both unaware of the case.
