The darling of radio, Irma Miller or better known as Irma G is back on the air she breathes and has joined the Good Hope FM team after a three-year break.
Voiceover artist, MC, TV presenter and radio jock, Irma G has been in commercial radio for close to 30 years, starting her journey in February 1996.
The Daily Voice caught up with Irma at the Good Hope FM Meet and Greet and got all the juice.
The veteran broadcaster says: “It has been very interesting being back and a nice welcoming experience. I have been around for 28 years in total.
"I started in radio after school, I matriculated in 1995 and in February 1996, I started working in radio, so it has been a long journey.
"I have learned a lot and basically grown as a person in the industry. I am less spicy than I used to be, but it has been really cool to be back.
"My imprint in the industry has reached further than what I ever anticipated - not just locally but abroad. A lot of people message in or reach out on social media saying they are enjoying the show and that is the best take away for me at the end of the day."
Irma joined the Good Hope FM family and had her first show on 6 April and has been spinning three hours of mense's favourite hits on her show called Cape Town’s Original Sundaze with Irma G from 9am to 12pm.
She said the three years when she was not on air, she was raising her babies aged 6 and 16 years and focused on her children, her husband and their dogs.
Back in her element, Irma shares: “I missed radio very dearly. Radio is a love and passion.
"When I am in the studio, I am overly critical of myself because I love the craft, so I want to get it right and I want people who listen to the show to hear the effort.
"I am going to nit-pick at everything that I possibly could have done wrong instead of focusing on what I did right
"My show is all about the music and the people. My needs and wants were to get back onto radio and do what I love so I was really happy when I got the call to chat.”
